Planning
Tiger shark encounters are year-round. For calmer seas and typically better viz, many divers like Jan–Apr; shoulder seasons can bring exciting pelagic activity too. We’ll advise based on currents and your goals.
Most guests choose 4–7 nights to combine tiger shark dives with blue-water or reef sites. We also run day trips if you’re tight on time.
Fly MLE → FVM(about ~1 hour domestic flight). Seasonal links via Addu (GAN) may operate. Ask us for current schedules and baggage tips.
Diving
No — cage-shark diving is not practiced anywhere in the Maldives. All our dives are open-water, natural encounters conducted under strict safety standards with experienced guides.
Nothing in the wild can be guaranteed — but yes, our team has encountered hammerheads on many occasions. Their appearances depend on currents, season, and luck. See our Diving Highlights to learn about common sightings and best times to dive.
Signature dives include tiger shark sessions plus pelagic routes with potential hammerheads, threshers, oceanic mantas, and reef shark encounters. We choose sites daily based on current and viz.
We welcome certified Open Water+ divers, but certain dives may require Advanced certification and recent logged dives. We’ll match sites and ratios to your comfort and experience.
Yes — action cams and housings are common. Follow your guide’s positioning and distance briefings to avoid stressing animals or blocking other divers’ view.
Tiger Shark Protocols
We use clear briefings, controlled positioning, no touching/feeding, and strict guide-to-diver ratios. Your guide will cover approach angles, spacing, and exit procedures.
Keep neutral buoyancy, maintain your triangle of awareness(guide–shark–you), follow hand signals, and keep cameras close to avoid entanglement or accidental contact.
