Maldives Tiger Shark Diving

Shark Island Dive Center is one of the first registered dive centers in Fuvahmulah, founded by Lonu—a local diver, surfer, and peacemaker. With over 13 years of experience, we welcome divers from across the globe to encounter tiger sharks in the Maldives’ most reliable and exciting shark diving location.

Known as the “Galápagos of Asia,” Fuvahmulah offers year-round tiger shark encounters in safe, shallow waters of just 2–5 meters, only a short 2–3 minute boat ride from shore. While sharks can sometimes be seen in North Malé or the Central Atolls, nowhere compares to Fuvahmulah for accessibility, visibility, and consistency.

Our biggest strength is our crew. With skilled local and international guides, we ensure every dive is safe, comfortable, and personalized. We maintain a 1:4–5 guide-to-diver ratio for maximum safety and attention.


Our specialty is small private groups—perfect for families, friends, or dive clubs—but we also run daily scheduled dives for individuals and couples. Alongside tiger sharks, divers may encounter hammerheads, thresher sharks, oceanic mantas, and other pelagics, making Fuvahmulah a true bucket-list diving destination in the Maldives.
